Dr. Xi Jiang joined Dr. Leng's group in November, 2022. Before joining Dr. Leng’s group, he worked as a research scientist at The National Transportation Research Center (NTRC) under the U.S. Department of Energy. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research interests mainly focus on resilient underground structures, low-carbon and sustainable construction materials, and transportation geotechnics (smart pavement structures). He is currently serving as the Interim Chair of the Committee of Tunnel and Underground Construction in ASCE CI, the representative of the International Tunnelling Association (ITA) young member working group, and the board member of the Symposium for Young Tunnellers of Asia (SYTA).
